Guide to forum registration
This is simply an introduction and step through of the process required to register for full access to this forum.
Anyone can browse the content of this forum without logging in as a user.
They will be considered a "Guest user".
There may be hidden areas in the future available only to registered users.
They will become visible automatically when you are logged in as a registered user.
To enable you to post questions and replies to other people you need to be a 'registered user'.
This requires you to register using the forms provided available from the link at the top of this web site page.
Once you have registered and the account has been activated you can use the forum and post new topics, reply to other peoples topics, upload images, send and receive private messages to and from other users, participate in polls and surveys etc. From your user profile page you can also choose to turn off some of these features if you wish to just read and reply to forum topics.
When you register you will be required to choose a username with a minimum of 5 characters and a maximum of 20. These can be a combination of text and numbers and you can also use spaces. You cannot change your username once you have registered - but you can contact an Admin user and request that it be changed.
The email you use to register cannot be changed in the forum system. So if you change your email later you will need to register on the forum again. You can notify an admin user to request that your old posts ownership be transferred to your new account if you wish to go back and edit or change content in older posts and topics..
As this is a public forum and we take your security seriously - we require that you use a secure password.
This password needs to be more that 10 characters long. It has to be a combination of upper case and lower case text characters, and numbers. It can have any combination of those. But it must have at least one of each.
Tip1 - make a password in a text editor and then you can simply copy and paste it into the registration password box. You can also then save it somewhere for later reference. You can simply go back and copy and paste it into the login.
Tip2 - use the built in STRONG password generator that all current browsers have built in to them and save it into your browser settings, password wallet or Keychain for later reference the next time you want to log in to the forum. This will be a very complex and secure password and will automatically fill in both password boxes on the registration form -so you don't need to type anything at all. All current major browsers have this function built in on Windows and MacOSX - Edge, Firefox, Chrome, Safari etc. It is usually a small arrow or eye symbol inside the password box on the right hand side. Just click on it and it will allow you to auto create a strong and secure password.
Reset your password
You can reset the account password at any time if you forget it or something happens and you want to change it.
There is a link on the "Login" page - 'I forgot my password' which you can use to reset it.
How to register step by step
1 click on the "Register" link at the top of the web page
2 Please read the terms and accept the terms by clicking on the button "I agree to these terms". If you do not agree then you will not be able to register for use of the forum and you will be returned to the front page of the forum.
3 fill out the details - A username - a secure password - your email address - and remember to set your correct timezone. (you can change or reset that later in your user profile)
4 fill out the 'confirmation code' - The case is not sensitive so you can type it in either upper or lower case. This is a graphic way to reduce random spam 'web bots' from automatically registering.
5 click submit.
An email will be sent to the email you entered to notify you of the success of the registration.
The email you receive will have a link that allows you to activate your new account and you will then be able to log in.
Remember to activate your account after you register by clicking on the link in the email the forum sends to you.
Check your antivirus system if the email does not turn up in your inbox or if the link cannot be clicked.
If you have any problems with this - please contact an admin using the 'Contact Us' link at the bottom of the page and we can activate your account manually for you.
A new registered user will have to have a Moderator approve their first post to the forum.
After that first approved post there are no other restrictions.
Please let us know if you have any problems posting after that.
