These materials were used in a presentation to market gardeners and farmers. The audience were already familiar with some seed saving and understood the basics. We used carrots as a case study so we could work through all the things that need to be thought about when doing more complicated seed crops such as cross-pollinating biennials.
The presentation probably gives too much detail because at least one market gardener, who was keen on the idea of seed saving, walked away afterwards convinced it was all too hard for them to take on. The presentation could perhaps make more of pointing out the simpler seed saving options rather than just sharing more advanced material. Or it could be used as part of an advanced seed saving workshop for people more comfortable with easier crops.
