Pumpkin ‘Galeux D’Eysines’

Cucurbita maxima ‘Galeux D’Eysines’ is a large, French heirloom weighing 5 – 6kg. The skin changes from green to salmon-pink as it ripens. When fully ripe the skin becomes covered with warty bumps that are causing by sugar leeching into the skin. The firm flesh is sweet, moist, bright orange with a medium sized cavity. When cooked it has a smooth, velvety texture and can be used for baking and soups; it will store for up to 6 months. Harvest takes 100 days.
