CORRECTION: There is an error at around the 30 minute and 51 minutes points in the recording where cucumber plants were incorrectly described as self-incompatible. Cucumbers plants are self-compatible and seed can be successfully saved from a single plant. Flowers are monoecious, meaning they cannot pollinate themselves (so individual flowers are self-incompatible). Pollen must be moved from a pollen producing flower type (male) to a fruiting flower type that will accept the pollen (female). This may occur across the same plant although seed saving from multiple plants is better practice to avoid excessive inbreeding.
